While the majority of payments in your divorce process — such as the service fee, document preparation, or online notarization — can be securely made using credit and debit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover), there is one category of payment that must be handled differently: court filing fees.
Court fees are not collected by us directly as part of our service — they are transferred on your behalf to the relevant courthouse in your jurisdiction. To ensure timely and secure processing of your court filing, we collect court filing fees via Zelle or Money Order when we are paying the court directly on your behalf. This method allows us to process your payment efficiently and ensures that the funds reach the court without delay or complications. Unlike standard card transactions, payments made through Zelle or Money Order are finalized and not subject to reversals once submitted to the court. Since courts do not issue refunds for any reason, using these payment methods helps us manage the process smoothly and avoid any disruptions to your case.
These two methods are used exclusively for the payment of the court filing fee, not for initial service registration, attorney review, or notarization fees.
Why we use Zelle?
Zelle is a fast, secure, and direct way to transfer funds between U.S. bank accounts. It operates within your bank’s mobile app or online banking, meaning you don’t need to download any separate app or register for a new service if your bank already supports Zelle.
We recommend Zelle as the fastest and most convenient method to pay your court filing fee. Because it offers real-time processing with no added fees for the sender or receiver, it minimizes administrative delays and ensures that your payment reaches us quickly for forwarding to the court.
Why we use Money Order?
If you do not use digital banking or prefer a more traditional payment method, we also accept Money Order for court filing fees. A money order is a prepaid paper certificate that you can purchase at most post offices, supermarkets, or convenience stores.
This option is reliable, traceable, and accepted by courts across the U.S. However, since money orders must be physically mailed, they take longer to process than Zelle, and may slightly extend your timeline before filing.
Summary
Zelle and Money Order are used solely for court filing fees, not for our internal services or platform use.
These methods ensure court compliance, security, and reliable documentation.
Zelle is best for clients who want speed and convenience.
Money Order is a safe alternative for those who prefer non-digital payments.
We encourage you to reach out to our support team if you need help accessing Zelle, locating a Money Order vendor, or confirming the court fee total. Our goal is to ensure that this part of the process is as clear and smooth as possible, so you can focus on moving forward confidently.
